About the session

Using my own learning journey, I will highlight frequent misconceptions about accessibility and give resources to get better at it whatever your role is.

We'll see that:

  • accessibility doesn't have to be hard and technical
  • disability and the way people are affected is varied
  • it's not just about interfaces and screen readers
  • there's hardly ever a single fully accessible solution
  • simulations are not enough
  • you need to involve disabled people
  • being a disabled person doesn't make you an accessibility expert

Participant takeaways:

  • Better understanding of what people need to learn and do, to become better at accessibility
  • Awareness of the usual misconceptions preventing people to really improve the accessibility of their design
  • Resources to learn more after the session

Themes: Accessibility

This session will be:

  • Delivered: Live
